MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Dayton Hudson Corporation (NYSE: DH) today reported that its net retail sales for the five weeks ended Jan. 1, 2000 increased 9.4 percent to $5.743 billion from $5.249 billion a year ago. Comparable-store sales increased 3.6 percent from the same period a year ago. Total company sales were $30.878 billion year to date.
"Target's sales in December were on plan, while sales at the Department Stores and Mervyn's were below plan," said Bob Ulrich, chairman and chief executive officer of Dayton Hudson Corporation.
