MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Dayton Hudson Corporation (NYSE: DH) today reported that its net retail sales for the four weeks ended July 31, 1999 increased 8.1 percent to $2.220 billion from $2.053 billion a year ago. Comparable-store sales increased 3.3 percent from the same period a year ago. Total company sales were $14.503 billion year to date.
"Target's sales in July were on plan, while Mervyn's and the Department Store Division were below expectations," said Bob Ulrich, chairman and chief executive officer of Dayton Hudson Corporation.
